EDUCATION: Associate's in Graphic Design, Bachelor in Fine Arts - Illustration with a minor in English, and a trade diploma in Web Design

OCCUPATION: UI Developer/Designer

OCCUPATIONAL HISTORY: I started out in the product design business, and after 8 years of pure misery, I changed me career, went back to school, and became a web designer. I'm much much happier.

CAREER GOALS: I want to be able to have a job that pays enough so my husband can stay at home with my kid. I like my work and my current job, and I'm pretty happy at this point. I'd like to learn more coding languages though to improve my skillset.

FAMILY

PARENTS: My stepfather died of pancreatic cancer in 2013. My mom is still around, on her third childhood, wild and free. She is retired, loves gardening, tattoos, her much younger boyfriend, her cats, grandchild and her car. My biological father is still alive, but I don't consider him my dad.

SIBLINGS: Step-sister, step-brother, and "adopted" sister Beth Ann, my longest and best friend

CHILDREN: a daughter, Juliet, 2

SPOUSE: husband, same age as me, Joe, is a case manager for Early Intervention

PETS: two dogs, coonhound Holly and schnauzer-mix Malachy. My beagle Whiskey passed away this last Christmas.

MENTAL HEALTH: I have chronic anxiety and depression. I'm medicated! But yeah...

BODY IMAGE: I just want to fit into my favorite jeans again, and for my wedding ring to fit.

TATTOOS/PIERCINGS: 2 tattoos, one of a tiger lily on my back and the other a pentagram on my right calf. I used to have piercings but my eczema gets so bad that I just didn't want to break out from them anymore. So they are closed up.

YOUR LIVEJOURNAL USERNAME MEANING: paynesgrey is a color, which is not quite black, like a dark, deep bluish gray. I had an art teacher who used to scream at us to "use more paynesgrey!" "no black, only paynesgrey" so I took that as username because I honestly hated that guy, but when I graduated he came up to me and told me I'd really improved. So I changed my mind about him, but some of my friends from Illustration will always know that phrase "Use more paynesgrey" haha!
