paynesgreyBecause of the DA wank going on lately, I've paid more attention to my Paper Demon account, even if the site itself doesn't get much traffic. It IS a good site, so I added some old and new artwork, everything from the No Biscuit comics, to stuff I took off of DA, to sketchbook and in progress works.
If you're an artist, fanartist, comic artist, doujinshi artist, I strongly recommend Paper Demon. It even has an adult section called Red Curtain which keeps out kiddies. The mods are really strict about this.
If you haven't seen the latest IY wank (which affects more than Inuyasha, but Harry Potter fanartists too), one of the main mods, RealitySquared, is back to his old tricks of bias against fanartists. Apparently they've modified their rules to say that even if an original creator like Rumiko Takahashi or JK Rowling, has an epilogue where her characters are older, fanart for them depicted older, married, and in a sensual moment with their spouse is still prohibited.
His non-earth logic is that "epilogues don't count", even if the original author ended the series with adult characters. Nope, the characters like Ginny and Kagome are ever eternalized in their underaged selves.
And those who would dare draw Ginny and Harry in a sensual embrace, or Inuyasha and Kagome embracing with minimal nudity is still prohibited. Oh, and the kicker... the artist is then referred to as a pedophile.
Yes, because pedophiles like pictures of naked adult fictional characters.

But this is Deviantart for you. They've been known to dislike fanartists, typically anime/manga artists, yet allow raunchy underage pornographic photography in their galleries without so much as a fight.

And yes, I added my name to the list. It has affected me before, and though I've removed all my PG-13 and over artwork from that site, I am a bit miffed at the name calling, shoddy rule changing, and poor conduct of their mods. If this at all affects you, I suggest you do too and contact one of these ladies compiling the complaint.
If it comes down to dA doing nothing and letting realitysquared get his way, then I suggest Paper Demon as an alternative if you do this sort of work. It's not a big site yet, but it's growing, and the mods actually care about their members and have a sense of logic.
