Help China
May. 16th, 2008 11:50 amSorry to spam your list today peeps. Here's another post that I'm leaving public because I think it's important.
As you know, I work for a Chinese company based here in the United States. We have offices in HK and England and here, as well as our factory in Guaungdong. Now, I know I always say my boss is a dunderhead, but I get along really well with the other employees here, like Agnes, Diana, Tanya and Heidi.
Nobody here was affected personally by the earthquake tragedy, but it is their country and it is part of my (current) place of employment. Our factory is fine, but they have a sense of pride in their country and this tragedy has really affected them emotionally.
Now I'm just passing this around through email at work but if you have some extra cash and want to donate it to a charity, the Red Cross of China Relief Fund is looking for donations 10 dollars or more to help the earthquake victims.
I gave $25 today. I wish I could give more, and the money we give isn't going to bring back the children that were lost, or the families but maybe we can help the survivors with food and water and provisions just a little bit.
If this is not your thing, just move along and ignore me. That's cool! I'm kinda into these charity things, and I'm just passing this along for a friend, Agnes (Ying), who is probably the nicest person that I work with and actually treats me like a human being, unlike my other jackass coworkers (the majority of them, American).
Thanks for listening.
(PS. I'll hear from Sears on Tuesday. PHEW! They finally got back to me. Stay tuned.)
